Zhang Ping, entrusted by the State Council, reported to the 10th session of the 11th National People's Congress Standing Committee on August 25 about the implementation of the national economy and social development plan. In the report, Zhang pointed out that China's economy is at the pivotal point, and eight big measures will be adopted in the second half of this year to sustain the steady economic growth.
Such eight big measures include:
- continue boosting domestic demand, and especially consumption demand.
- stabilize foreign economy and especially foreign trade export.
- maintain stable development of agricultural and rural economy.
- make great efforts to push structural adjustment.
- accelerate scientific and technological innovation and cultivation of emerging industries.
- firmly implement energy conservation and emission reduction.
- deepen the reform in key fields and key links.
- further improve people’s livelihood.
