Service outsourcing enterprises in Hefei, Anhui Province, next to Shanghai, have exceeded 70. After being recognized with the title of "China service outsourcing base city" in 2007, Hefei was once again awarded as one of 20 "China service outsourcing model cities" on January 15, 2009.

Information released by Anhui Economy and Information Center indicates that in 2007, 18 major service outsourcing enterprises in Hefei realized the contractual value of 980 million yuan, and it is estimated that total revenue from the service outsourcing businesses will reach 10 billion yuan by 2010.  At present, service outsourcing enterprises are mainly engaged in such businesses as data processing, software design and test, human resource management and logistics.
