According to China Daily, the aviation and aerospace industry will become one of Tianjin’s pillar industries, with a host of new projects on the pipeline.

Tianjin, just one hour away from Beijing, has long been the industrial base of northern China.  It is also the water gate for Beijing.  All imports from and exports to Beijing are through Tianjin port in Binhai, a district of Tianjin.

“The aviation and aerospace industry is tending to grow into one of the important pillar industries of Tianjin. Some new projects are under discussion and negotiation between Tianjin and its potential partners within the aviation segment,” Tony Xu, vice president of Tianjin Binhai New Area Administrative Committee.
