National Business Climate Index Kept Booming up in the Fourth Quarter of 2009 PDF Print E-mail

China's Business Climate Survey by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed that the national business climate index (BCI) was 130.6 in the fourth quarter of 2009, booming up by 6.2 points quarter-on-quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the BCI of industry stood at 128.1, increased 7.6 points quarter-on-quarter, and the BCIs of 39 major categories were all increased for the first time since 2008. Of the total, the BCIs of construction, wholesale and retail trade, real-estate industry, information transmission, computer services, and software industry, and accommodation and catering industry stood at 140.5, 141.4, 133.6, 153.5 and 121.6 respectively, adding 6.0, 5.4, 7.3, 1.7 and 6.5 points each.

The BCIs of large sized enterprises was 150.7, up 2.6 points quarter-on-quarter; that of medium sized enterprises was 131.2, promoted 7.9 points; that of small sized enterprises was 112.8, picked up 5.7 points.
