Broad money rose 21.48%. By late April 2010, the balance of broad money (M2) was RMB65.66t, up 21.48% year-on-year, with the growth down 1.01 and 4.47 percentage points from the end of last month and from the same period last year respectively while the balance of narrow money (M1) RMB23.39t, up 31.25% year-on-year.

Domestic and foreign currency loans increased RMB809.3b, of which Renminbi loans rose RMB774b while foreign currency loans USD5.2b. At the end of April, the balance of domestic and foreign currency loans in the financial institutes amounted to RMB46.17t, up 24.11% year-on-year. The balance of Renminbi loans in financial institutes stood at RMB43.35t, up 21.96% year-on-year.
