Spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce of China (MOFCOM) Yao Jian stated on May 17 that at the time when the second-round China-US Strategic Economic Dialogue is launching, China and the US are positively carrying out economic trade exchanges and the commerce minister of the two countries will hold a talk on May 23 to exchange views on the topics of common concerns.
Yao said MOFCOM will highlight three aspects in the ministerial talks of the China-US Strategic Economic Dialogue: Firstly, to enhance bilateral economic trade cooperation; secondly, to focus on fighting against trade protectionism; and thirdly, to stress the crucial role of China-US cooperation in overcoming the global crisis so that both parties should step up economic trade cooperation in terms of strategy and long term to promote the world’s economic trade growth.
