The number of mobile phone users in China reached 786.5 million at the end of April, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said Tuesday.

According to the ministry, cell phone users increased by 9.63 million in April, but line telephone households fell by 6.14 million to 307.55 million.  About 111 million users had access to broadband Internet services at the end of April.
