Deputy Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan headed a fact-finding team to Jilin and Liaoning provinces from May 13 to 15 to size up foreign trade development. There, the team called on departments of commerce, finance, inspection & quarantine, customs, banking, and enterprises, held sessions of discussion with them on foreign trade development, and solicited their comments on implementation of growth-maintaining policy. The team also made an on-the-spot investigation at major enterprises such as First Automotive Works, Dacheng Group, and BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd.

In response to the problems of less orders and increasing risks in payment collection put up by enterprises, Zhong said that, the impact of financial crisis on export is most direct and serious; that in face of their severe difficulties, government departments should further improve service, create favorable policy and operation environment, so as to help the enterprises to tide over crisis, reduce risks, make export and employment steady.
