In May, total retail sales of consumer goods in Shanghai stood at RMB43.411 billion, up 12.4% year-on-year. By industry, the catering industry was RMB6.691 billion, up 13.6%; food, clothes and necessities reached RMB17.455 billion, RMB5.286 billion and RMB19.208 billion, up by 13.4%, 13.9% and 12.6% respectively.

From January to May, the accumulative total retail sales of consumer goods of Shanghai amounted to RMB208.451 billion, up by 13.7% year-on-year.
