In the first half year, the average wage of urban employees increased 1,674 yuan to 14,638 yuan, which was 12.9 percent over same period of previous year, according to a release by National Buaeau of Statistics.

In the first half year, the average wage of top three sectors were: financial industry's 30,603 yuan was 2.1 times of the national average; the 27,730 yuan of information transmission, computer services and software industry accounted for 1.9 times of the national average; and the 23,248 yuan from scientific research, technical services and geological prospecting industry hit 1.6 times of the national average.

The reciprocal three were: accommodation and catering services industry averaged at 9,885 yuan, just 67.5 percent of the national average; the 10,349 yuan from construction industry stood at 70.7 percent of the national average; the 11,661 yuan average from management of water conservancy, environment and public facilities was just 79.7 percent of the national average.

The average salary in the financial industry was over three times that of the worst sector, the accommodation and catering services industry.
