Wuhan General Group (China), Inc. (WUHN) reported its Q3 results today. Third quarter revenue was $24.7 million, up 44.1% quarter-over-quarter. Net income was $3.0 million, up 156.6% quarter-over-quarter from adjusted net income of $1.2 million, excluding a non-cash penalty relating to the Company's capital market activities recorded in the second quarter of 2009 Net income available to common shareholders was $2.8 million, or $0.08 per diluted share, up from adjusted net income available to common shareholders of $1.0 million, or $0.04 per diluted share, in the second quarter of 2009. 

SPRD released its earnings Monday.  Total revenue increased 137% quarter-over-quarter and 92% year-over-year to US$38.4 million.  Gross profit was US$15.0 million, up 292% quarter-over-quarter and 71% year-over-year. Gross margin was 39.0% compared to 23.6% in the previous quarter and 43.7% in the third quarter 2008.  GAAP net income per basic and diluted ADS was US$0.01, an improvement from a loss of US$0.29 per basic and diluted ADS in the second quarter 2009 and a loss of US$0.71 per basic and diluted ADS in the third quarter 2008.

Today, SPRD was downgraded by Needham from Hold to Underperform.

VanceInfo Technologies Inc. (VIT) today reported its record Q3 results and raised its full year guidance.  Net revenues in the third quarter of 2009 increased to $40.2 million, up 45.2% from $27.7 million in the third quarter of 2008. Operating income in the third quarter of 2009 was $6.0 million, up 39.2% from the third quarter of 2008.  Net income in the third quarter of 2009 was $5.8 million, up 32.8% from $4.3 million in the year-ago period. Non-GAAP net income(1) was $7.1 million, up 44.3% from $4.9 million a year ago.  Diluted earnings per share ("EPS") were $0.14 in the third quarter, up from $0.11 in the third quarter of 2008. Non-GAAP diluted EPS(1) was $0.17 in the third quarter, up from $0.12 in the third quarter of 2008.

China Ritar Power Corp. (CRTP) announced its Q3 result today. Sales volume increased approximately 6% over third quarter 2008.  Gross profit was $6.3 million with 18.7% gross margin.  Net income was $3.3 million with 9.6% profit margin.  Fully diluted earnings per share were $0.17.

Today's big winner is A-Power Energy Generation Systems, Ltd. (APWR).  It is the only China stock that increased more than 10% today.  The reason for the jump is its agreement with the U.S. Renewable Energy Group (US-REG) to the development and construction of a new production and assembly plant in the United States that will supply highly advanced wind energy turbines to renewable energy projects throughout North and South America.
