China bankers and entrepreneurs more confident about the future PDF Print E-mail

The third quarter survey conducted by China's central bank shows bankers and corporate executives all feel more optimistic about China's economic future now than what was revealed last quarter.

The 2009 third quarter survey of China bankers released on September 24 by the Survey and Statistics Department of People’s Bank of China showed that several indexes are all pointing to a positive trend about China's economy.

The bankers' macroeconomic confidence index jumped 15.4% over the second quarter to 55.4%.  China bankers expect the economy to get better in the next quarter.  The survey shows that 55.9% of the participants believe the current monetary policy is appropriate, up 8.3% over previous quarter, while 39.3% feels the policy is a little too loose.

The macroeconomic heat index in the third quarter increased 5.3% to 39.9% over the second quarter quarter, according the survey result of China entrepreneurs. It was the second positive change after five quarters of decline,

Another index, the enterprise climate index from the same survey in the third quarter rose 2.1% over the previous quarter to 58.1%, which is also the second consecutive increase since the third quarter of 2008.  The market demand index rose 2.5% to 52.2%.  In addition, domestic order index, export index, sales index, and profit index have all showed upward trend.
